Travis and Shannon are two great people. They have an incredible love that anyone can see just oozing from them when they look at each other. (Can you use the word oozing in a wedding blog?) They practically grew up together, but circumstances, and parents (age difference), kept them apart until they started working together… the rest is history. It’s been really great to getting to know the two of them on a more personal level too. We host a church Life group in our home and we love that they took the time to get to know us by attending. We’ve been absolutely honored to share that part of our lives with them and become friends.
Their wedding day was beautiful. You could tell the moment we walked in that everyone they love had a truly personal investment in making their day happen. See that second picture down there, where the dress is hanging? Shannon’s supa fab dad MADE that arbor, like from metal, from scratch… Crazy amazing talent, that guy. And what’s really cool is that they will put the arbor they got married under in the back yard and add names to it as their family grows. How amazing!!! Ohhhh… I almost forgot! They did this amazing spin on the unity candle/sand “thingy” that couples do during their ceremony. You know… couples either light a candle together or pour differently colored sand into a common vase. The intentions behind this tradition are actually beautiful. Once two lives are connected, they are forever interwoven. It’s impossible to separate them. Well, they did something we’ve never seen before. They, along with their parents, poured differently colored glass “beads” matching their wedding colors into a common vase. That’s not all though. This special vase will be packed it up and sent to a glass blower who blends the glass beads into a glass sculpture art piece they can display. What is great… now they don’t have to worry about when the sand vase gets knocked over and spills on their living room carpet-hee hee.
Travis and Shannon, thank you for making us such a huge part of your day. It was a blessing to capture everything for you guys! Now, we know you’ve been dying to see your images so we’ll shut up. To all Travis and Shannon’s peeps: be sure to take a few moments to peek at some of our favorite images from their day. When you are done, leave them some love in the comments!
Blessings~
