Today is a glorious day! It’s the day we get to FINALLY reveal Braxton and Holly’s wedding images! This wedding day, folks, was one for the history books. But first, if you haven’t reviewed their super awesome, amazing, stupendous engagement blog – go visit it now!!! Okay, back to the day at hand… Braxton and Holly’s Kansas City Cider Hill Family Orchard wedding was just breathtaking. Every image from beginning to end points back to the purpose in having a wedding day – to enter into a marriage covenant. What an honor to watch these two show so much honor and respect to the sanctity of a God-honoring marriage, not just a really great wedding day. They remind Mike and I a lot of ourselves at their age. Which believe it or not, was a loooong time ago, despite our youthful appearance. We totally got married when we were 12.
One of the most beautiful evidences of Braxton and Holly’s commitment to each other and their future together, was including a foot washing ceremony in their own wedding ceremony. For those not versed in the significance of what that means: in Jesus’ time, washing people’s feet was necessary before eating and the lowest of the lowest servant’s job to perform. Jesus humbled himself and served his friends by washing their feet. It was shockingly unexpected for each partner to get on their knees (especially a bride in her dress), humble themselves, and serve their mate by washing their feet. This was quite possibly one of the best ways to demonstrate their commitment to serve the other in marriage.
Braxton and Holly: you have prepared yourselves for the ultimate adventure – marriage! We were honored to be there to witness and document such a wonderful day.
Blessings~
MIKE + JULIE
