Every year, competitive dancers around the country (or maybe the world, it’s possible!) put the finishing touches on their newly formed routines, rally to get alllllll the rhinestones applied, crack open a fresh pack of lashes, and prepare to dance their HEARTS out for the coming season.

But first…. we showcase.

The showcase is a special day. It’s the first time our dancers don the stage in full costume with finished routines. It’s the first time we coaches see our vision come together in real life. It’s sometimes the first time parents even see their kiddos’ routines at all. More importantly, it’s the safest place on earth to put it all out there and leave it all on the dance floor, a judgment-free zone. These folks are our family.

While I love seeing my dancers on stage, I live for capturing what it feels like for them to experience it all from behind the scenes. The rushing, the crossing your fingers it goes well, the goofiness, the hugs after each performer leaves the stage.

I’m constantly re-invigorated by these dedicated young people. Enjoy a glimpse of what it’s like to be behind the scenes and… GOOD LUCK to the Premier Team this year!
