The Collins Family Story

The Collins Family Story

Well, hey there! Today, we’re sharing the Collins family story. These folks are definitely worth getting to know! Connected, faith-filled, musical, and so full of laughter. You guys, their story is just so wonderful we had to share it!

Meet the Collins Family

The Collins family is happy as a family of 5, but know that God is not done forming their family just yet. He’s called them to adopt once again and they are SO eager to welcome a new member to their family. Similar to other adoptive families creating a profile book, they find themselves in need of a meaningful way to build a connection with potential birth moms that REALLY helps them demonstrate who they are and what their family is all about… a way to share their story if you will…

Welp! It just so happens that telling your real story is what we do around here!

Enter The UNportrait Experience

The UNportrait Experience is not your typical ‘guided by the photographer’ type of photography experience. Since we’re not controlling or coaching the actions of the session, we’re not preventing the truly unique and wonderful things that would have happened organically without our presence from happening. Think fly on the wall during some of your favorite family time activities and all the wonderful micro-moments that might take place! For the Collins family, we are able to photograph deeper family moments we’d never have access to in a normal portrait session. For instance, how big brother is known to snuggle with mom every so often (and even snag extra bacon when no one is looking!) and their youngest son’s LOVE of all things pirates, as well as his whole family joining in to share that love with him. And, of course, there’s karaoke with kitchen utensils, resulting in some epic performances. All genuine snapshots of life that would not have been captured had we posed them in a park.

You see, there were so many big, memorable moments, but also so many little micro-moments, which sometimes mean even more, amiright?? Like covertly bringing favorite lego men to the breakfast table, passing hugs and cuddles between each and every family member, and the contentment to just be in each other’s company and the happiness they have being all together.

Moments as Wall Art

We love how moment-driven this family is. In fact, even though these photos served an initial purpose of helping in their adoption journey, they knew these moments needed to be on their walls. So, with our help, the Collins’ were able to design a wall display that has the power to grow with them as their family evolves! Check out the finished product below to see how real moments can look on your wall. It’s not just portraits that deserve a place of prominence on your walls.
