We were THRILLED when Sandeep and Reetu told us they wanted us to not only photograph their romantic couple session at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, but also capture some really fun and cozy photos of them hanging out in the place they love the most, their home. They were excited about both looks, and so were we!
Sandeep and Reetu were recently married in India but wanted to ensure they had some additional photos of the two of them that captured more of the genuine chemistry between them, as opposed to the formal pictures that were taken at their wedding. As you can see, Sandeep in his smart suit and Reetu in her beautiful lehenga did not disappoint in their session at The Nelson. But the session at their home? They easily let their guards down and allowed us to capture the more casual and intimate side of their relationship while they were relaxing at home.
There are so many things about Sandeep and Reetu’s time in front of our cameras that we love, but we’re gonna share just a couple from the top of our list.

Folks come to us because they know we’re gonna capture the real stuff, all the little things that make y’all… you! What people might not realize is that those results are a partnership between the subjects and photographers, and that’s what makes the magic really happen. We’re able to capture all the best moments when you let choose to your guard down and allow us to witness what’s authentic for you. Sandeep and Reetu visibly love each other and trusted us enough to show it to us. Sandeep couldn’t keep his eyes off of his bride. Doesn’t his devotion absolutely come across in every image?? These two are passionate, romantic, and totally in love with each other. Because they allowed us to use our cameras to document all that goodness they have these images to look back on for years to come.
They were sooo much more relaxed at their in-home session versus the session at The Nelson.
Just because “everyone else” is choosing to have a photo session at a popular location doesn’t mean you have to. And dare we say, if timing your session to coincide with fall colors is too stressful with your schedule… then just don’t it. Life’s too short and photos should be fun… not something to dread (if you’re dreading photos, how do you think that’ll go?). A place where they can shut the world out. The closeness and love they share was sooo much more vibrant and natural when photographing them in their home compared to The Nelson. Not to say anything is wrong with the first part of their session. I mean come on… it was stunning! But you, as the viewer, can see the curtain being drawn to reveal more about their real relationship when they were more comfortable. Just some food for thought before your next photo session!
