Hello Class of 2025! You’re SENIORS now, yassssssss! It’s FINALLY your turn for all the fun of being a senior and that definitely starts with senior pictures! We’ve gathered a few of our best tips when you’re shopping for your senior photographers.
You have started your search for your senior photographer, right??
Tip 1: Know your style.
The world of senior photography is filled with variety. Are you a run with the pack, craving pics like your friends got kinda person? Or, are you someone who really desires something unique and distinct, something that feels less cookie-cutter? When you’re checking out a photographer’s website, do you see the same poses and camera angles on each person? Can you get a feel for each individual person’s personality? If so, what do you think of that? Is that a good thing or a bad thing for you?
We may be the photographers for you if you have tons of personality that you NEED captured! Take Rachel below. Just look at her beautiful confidence. And doesn’t she have the best expressions? This girl is sweet and stunning, and it all comes across in her photos… even her fierceness in dancing! We specialize in personality, all kinds. We’ve been blessed to photograph big loud personalities as well as folks who might be considered introverts. We love it all as long as it’s the real YOU. If that’s your thing, let’s connect!
Tip 2: Do some recon for your parents.
Each photographer will have a different way of doing business, offering various types of sessions and products. For instance, does the photographer you’re looking into provide hair and makeup, like Rachel’s session below? (If this interests you, you’ll love our Deluxe Senior Session) How does your photographer plan to make sure you love everything about your session? Do the research you can and then give your parents the scoop: photographer website, contact info, basic details. From there, the person who will be paying and signing any contracts should be the one to discuss booking and scheduling with the photographer. Once your session is booked with us, we bring the senior into the discussion to the degree they want to be included. We highly value hearing from you, the one getting their picture taken, on what you really want your pictures to be like!
Tip 3: Know the best time to take your senior pics.
If there is one thing we hear A LOT, it’s that things are just so dang busy for the families who wait til Fall or Spring for their senior pictures. We cannot recommend scheduling sooner rather than later ENOUGH. What are your days like once school starts? If the answer is FULL, then now is better than later. Like, seriously, do yourself (and your parents) the biggest favor and get your senior pictures taken care of now, during the summer, when you have more room in your schedule. Plus, the weather is just incredible in June compared to July and August AND you know you’re ahead of all those school yearbook deadlines too.
