4 Things to Know About Your Spring Photo Session

You guys!!! Doesn’t all this fabulous warm weather lately leave you feeling energized and READY to venture outdoors?! As the weather starts to turn nice, here are some thoughts to consider when booking your Spring family portrait session!

WHY SPRING IS A GREAT TIME FOR FAMILY PICTURES

So many reasons! First, there’s something about Spring that has such amazing energy! It’s like the whole world is excited to crawl outta the cave of winter and that energy comes through in your images! Second, it’s a much easier time to get on a photographer’s calendar than in Fall. Plus, in the Fall, there’s this constant battle between temperatures and Fall color. (Just between us friends, we don’t think Fall color is all that important when it comes down to what makes your images great.) In the Spring, mornings are warmer and evenings are milder. And if you have to reschedule, you’re not looking at dreary November for your pics. The weather just gets better and better!

WEEKENDS WILL BOOK UP BEFORE WEEKDAYS

We’re already starting to fill most primo weekend spots for March, April, and May. So, if you’re a family who has busy weeknights, now is the time to reserve your favorite time. Remember, less stress=way happier pics.

MIKE AND JULIE ARE NOT ARBORISTS

Okay, but seriously, y’all know that right? Like, we’re not sure when everything will start turning green. If greenery isn’t that important to you, ask us about our favorite ‘all season’ locations. Kansas City has some really great spots that don’t rely on trees being covered in green to photograph well.

NEVER HURTS TO REVIEW OUR WEATHER POLICY

We ALWAYS want you to have the best experience and uncooperative weather just doesn’t cut the mustard here at MIKE + JULIE | storytellers. So… If good ole Mother Nature decides to throw a fit on your session date, here’s what we do:

If the forecast calls for precipitation, temps below 45 degrees, or strong winds, we will contact you the night before your session and see if it’s possible to make a call at that time. Often though, it’s a matter of waiting until those last few hours before to really know what the weather might do (especially with Spring rain). If that’s the case, we will work with your priorities to make a plan that you love!

We can’t WAIT to see you guys this Spring! We’ve missed seeing our peeps’ faces and remember: there’s never a better time than now to get your family’s story told!!
