Darcie :: Class of 2021 | Kansas City Senior Photographers
If there was one word we had to use to describe Darcie’s senior pictures, it would have to be personality!
One of the biggest goals in photographing high school seniors is ensuring we capture their genuine personality.
Whether it be big and loud, or calm and quiet. In addition to taking photos, making sure seniors feel comfortable in front of our cameras and helping to draw out that awesome personality of theirs is one of the bigger tasks during these sessions.
Not with Darcie, though!
Obviously, our job was to take some stunning and beautiful photos to commemorate her senior year in high school… But when it came to drawing out her personality… we had to just hang on for the wild 4-hour ride we were about to take part in.
You see, Darcie doesn’t just have a big, beautiful, vibrant, special, kind-hearted, confident, one-of-a-kind personality… She’s also a performer. So we knew going into the session she was going to make some fun senior pictures as we toured Kansas City!
A couple of items to expand on from above where we left you hanging a bit!
Wild 4-hour ride: Yes, Darcie’s senior session was 4 hours! We offer two options for our seniors and one of them includes pro hair and makeup by a professional stylist and 4 hours of session time to capture many locations and outfits (ask us our record on number of locations and outfits). It gives us allllll the time to not just get every single outfit you want, but to also hit a bunch of locations that fit your style and personality! By the way, Darcie’s stunning hair and makeup were done by the always amazing hair and makeup specialists at White Carpet Bride.
Darice is a performer: Ok, we downplayed that a bit. Darcie isn’t just a performer… she is a heckuva performer. She’s been an amazing actor and singer-songwriter since she was a wee lil’ gal. In fact, today is a YUGE day for Darcie. She released her very first music album today titled, Songs in the Key of Ukulele. The new album is composed of songs written and sung by… you guessed it… Ms. Darcie Hingula. A bit more than we accomplished by our senior year in high school! We had the chance to hear just one of the songs on this album at her session and it’s so, so good y’all. Like, you have to check these songs out.
Your mission, should you choose to accept, is two-fold:
? Head over to our Senior Portraits page, check out the info, and share this with a high school senior in your life.
? Go check our Darcie’s new album by clicking here! Songs in the Key of Ukulele
Ok, that was four-fold… or would it be quad-fold? I dunno. Just do it.
Darcie, a senior at St. Teresa’s Academy, is a multi-faceted singer, actor, and performer in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Her first theater production was Oklahoma! in a local community theater at the age of 5 and she was hooked from the start. Since then, she has performed in community and professional theater productions throughout Kansas City. Darcie’s true passion is music. Since middle school, Darcie has played and lead worship at her church and has found various opportunities to share her love of music through singing and playing guitar, ukulele, and piano. She also has been writing her own songs since she was in elementary school (winning a national songwriting competition for her grade level in 5th grade), and recently won second place for her original song “Boy Allergies” through the University of Missouri’s 2020 Creating Original Music Project. This summer she also participated in the KC Superstar singing competition and placed in the top 10 and will compete in the finals which will be broadcast on October 18, 2020. Darcie is planning to continue her music and performance career by studying both in college after graduating in May 2021. IG: @darcie_hingula
