Meet Dodge. North Kansas City High School Class of 2015. A fun, loving, and carefree guy who loves jazz, playing trumpet, and riding his longboard skateboard. We were able to spend some time with Dodge this past fall for his senior photos. After getting to know him better, he certainly does fit every one of those descriptors. When we’re preparing for a senior session, or any session for that matter, we have a questionnaire we have them complete. We want to learn a bit about the amazing people we get to work with… see what they like (or hate), what makes them tick, and what they want their images to be like. An important aspect in all of our portrait sessions… not just seniors… is to bring out the real personality of our subject. We don’t want any fake personality or uncomfortable poses just for the sake of posing. We want to capture who you are at this time in your life. Dodge was awesome enough to let us into his bubble space and allow us to have some fun documenting him. He wanted something dramatic. He also wanted the brilliant and glowing neon from a place unique to Kansas City. He was excited about photos with his trumpet in KC’s own jazz district, 18th & Vine. We were pretty dang thrilled to incorporate an area that is not only visually stimulating, but also to do something unique for him, something we haven’t really seen in other senior portraits around town. Thank you Dodge for putting up with our antics and trusting us with you images!
